Designing Activities for the 2.0 Language Classroom
Education and Pedagogics (HU)
Advanced bachelor level
This intensive course explores new technologies such as Wiki, Weblogging, Real-time Communication (Videoconferencing and 3D Virtual Worlds) and the LanguageQuest format for integrating the world wide web into classroom teaching.
The course consists of theoretical sessions on task-based language learning approaches and hands-on workshops. The focus is not on the technology itself, but on teacher competences involved in designing and moderating activities for network-based language learning. Participants are actively involved and supported to develop - individually or in small groups - language activities for use in their teaching. There is also an option to develop skills for working with Interactive Whiteboards and design activities that help focus attention, support interactivity and promote connectedness as demonstrated during the course.
