Get ready to see some of the most impressive cities of the Netherlands!
What to expect from Delft? This is the beautiful and traditional hometown of the famous painter Johannes Vermeer. Delft is also known for its traditional and typical Dutch architecture, which dates back to the Golden Age (17th century). It is also in this city that the well-known `Delfts Blue` porcelain is made; printed of course with windmills, tulips and wooden shoes. A great place to buy a souvenir!
Moreover, there will be a guided tour through the city and you will also have time to spend on your own. Tip: Delft has a nice square with bars and restaurants where you can try a Dutch 'Uitsmijter' for lunch or what about a 'broodje kroket'?
After Delft, we go to the city where the Dutch government reside and where the working palace of King Alexander, the Peace Palace and many other famous buildings are located: The Hague. We will visit the Escher museum, which is situated in one of the old palaces of the royal family. M.C. Escher was a Dutch graphic artist and his art was full of impossible realities, which are confusing but mind-blowing! After this dizzying, but inspiring museum, you can go and explore The Hague on your own.
This extensive day trip to two Dutch cities will give you a real taste of Dutch culture and a broad idea of what the Netherlands has to offer.
